Ship crew was forced to get off Alcoa at the early hours this Wednesday – Cargo News

The latest cargo news has reported that the ship crew in the Alcoa was asked to leave the ship at the early hours this Wednesday. The sources have told that the disputes between the crew and the company management were the reason behind the action that has taken place this week. About 30 security guards have asked the crew to get off from the ship. These crew members were asked to get off their beds and to pack their things as they were suppose to leave the ship. The guards have packed their things and have given them a carrier, in which the crew has started sailing to Singapore, said the sources. The other crew members have told that this is an obstinate activity of the Alcoa management towards its workers.

When the security people were enquired regarding the action, they told that the crew was literally pulled out from the bed and they were forced to leave the ship immediately packing their things. These workers have started protesting inside the ship before two months. Alcoa has announced that it is planning to sell the ship soon and thus many local seafarers will lose their jobs. This crew was not allowed to travel in the ship as they will be out of their jobs soon. But the crew has refused to accept the conditions of the management and they wanted to travel with their team. Since the management has refused to accept the crew request, the crew members have started protesting against the management by being inside the ship before two months. This Wednesday, the management has decided to push the crew out of the ship and have made it.

The crew has spoke to the cargo news reporters and told that the management and the security guards have not given them any time to even pack their things. They added that both the management and the security guards have treated them very poorly and pushed them out of the ship. The other workers have told that this is clearly an inhuman activity by the management and they have demanded an explanation for what they have done. The Australian seafarers were now getting replaced by the foreign seafarers. This makes sure that the local seafarers are losing their jobs for no reason and they want the management to take a wise decision on this and get back the jobs for the local seafarers soon. Many shipping companies and other organizations also have told that this problem must be cleared soon.
